Carob Cupcakes Stuffed with Peanut Butter Frosting!

Sometimes back to the basics is simple. Like a simple delicious cupcake. How about a carob cupcake with peanut butter frosting topped with bacon strip treats? Umm, yes please. But what if I told you these simple treats are for dogs! That’s right. Puppy Cake makes the best cake mixes for dogs that is made with all-natural ingredients, made in the USA and wheat-free.

Let’s get started on how to make this delicious carob cake for your dog. And remember, it doesn’t have to be their birthday to bake a special cake ??

Here is what you’ll need:

A cupcake Pan

1 Box of Carob Cake Mix

1 Egg

¾ cup Water

¼ cup Oil

(Each box of carob cake mix comes complete with yogurt icing!)

A Jar of Peanut Butter

To begin, pre-heat your oven to 350 degree and prepare the Carob cake mix. Follow the directions on the back of the cake mix by adding 1 egg, oil, water and the cake mix together until all lumps are removed. Spray your cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray and pour the Carob cake mix batter into the pan, tapping on your countertop to remove all bubbles from the pan. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cupcakes comes out clean.

Once your cupcakes have finished baking, immediately poke holes into the center of each cupcake. I used the open end of a utensil to poke holes. Then let the cupcakes completely cool.

Next, mix a half cup of peanut butter with a ½ teaspoon of olive oil and stir well. Place mixture into a baggie and seal tight. Then cut a small hole in the corner of the sandwich baggie and squeeze a desired dollop into the center of each cupcake.

Mix together the yogurt icing found in the cake mix box and stir with 2 TBSP of water. Once your yogurt is made, mix in 1 cup of peanut butter and stir well! Top each cupcake with the peanut butter frosting and decorate as desired. I included bacon strips.

Finally, serve your sweet treat to your pup! Enjoy!!!!!

Goat milk contains vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, trace elements, enzymes, protein, and fatty acids. In fact, the body can digest goat’s milk in 20 minutes. Goats Milk is more digestible than cow’s milk and lacks the complex proteins that are often associated with allergies. Having fat molecules one-fifth the size of those in cow’s milk makes it easily digestible and tolerable even for dogs with digestive issues.

Adding a raw fermented milk to your dog’s diet can provide enzymes, probiotics, powerful antioxidants, essential fatty acids, concentrated vitamins (such as essential vitamin K2) and trace minerals in a live, whole food form. Fermented goat milk promotes good health.
Cow’s milk, which contains something called alpha-s1-casein protein, may be more likely to cause allergic reactions than goat milk, which contains extremely low or no amounts of this protein. Cow’s milk also contains different forms of the beta-lactoglobulin and alpha-lactalbumin proteins, which have also been linked to allergic reactions.
Lactose is a milk sugar that requires the enzyme lactase to split it into simple sugars for easy digestion. Raw milk is rich in lactase enzyme – but pasteurization and heat destroy the lactase enzyme. Many people and pets who don’t produce the lactase enzyme can’t digest pasteurized milk but can digest raw milk without problems.

Once the milk is thawed, it is good in the refrigerator for 7 to 14 days, depending on the brand.
CLA. Raw goat’s milk from grass fed goats is high in CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). This is a cancer fighting fat. CLA has been proven in European studies to reduce the risk of cancer by 74% and existing tumors by 60%.
Caprylic Acid. Raw goat’s milk from grass fed goats is also high in Caprylic Acid, a yeast fighting fat. This is where we have seen the most incredible results. Dogs with yeasty feet, ears, tummies, and even tear stains, gone after only a few short weeks drinking the goat’s milk.

All her Bulldogs get goat’s milk daily. She was thrilled by the results after only 3 ½ weeks. Note though, the yeast will sometimes get worse first, as it comes out of the body, but it will get better (mostly ears, not so much tear stains.").

Baking Idea's with Puppy Cake's Holiday Cookie Mix for Dogs

“Happiness is… a warm cookie.” And I bet your dog would agree with that quote too! I wanted to share a couple cookie recipes that we have shared over the past year using our Holiday Cookie Mix. I know the name “Holiday” can be a little misleading, thinking our cookie mix is good around Christmas and that’s it.

But that’s not true at all. Our Holiday Cookie Mix is basically a shortbread cookie mix for dogs. Baking just like regular cookies by adding an egg, ¼ cup of warm tap water and 1 TBSP of oil, your dog can enjoy homemade cookies. Our ingredients include rice flower, whole milk powder, tapioca starch, cane sugar, gelatin, baking soda and natural vanilla flavor. Each bag of Holiday Cookie Mix includes a FREE bone-shaped cookie cutter inside!

Below are 2 fun and easy recipes to bake for your dog that include our Holiday Cookie Mix.:

COOKIE BOWL

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, mix the Holiday Cookie Mix, egg, water and oil together. Kneed with your hands if necessary, until the mix turns into dough. With a rolling pin or your palms, roll out the dough. Take the dough and turn a cupcake pan over. Spray the bottom of the cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray and mold the dough over the pan, creating a “bowl” shape. Pop the pan in the oven for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Scoop out your dogs desired ice cream flavor into the cookie bowl and serve!

ICE CREAM COOKIE SANDWICH

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix the Holiday Cookie Mix, egg, water and oil together. Kneed with your hands if necessary, until the mix turns into dough. With a rolling pin or your palms, roll out the dough and cut out your desired number of cookie shapes. ***Please note, the Holiday Cookie Mix does not rise when in the oven. It is recommended to create thin cookie shapes to fit ice cream in between.

Once your cookie shapes are cut out and placed on a cookie sheet, insert into the over for about 7 minutes or until your cookies turn golden brown.

Scoop out the ice cream and place between two cookie shapes! I used Smart Scoops Blueberry Ice Cream Mix made with whole goat’s milk!!!

Ice Cream-wich Bowl!

“It’s hard to be sad when you’re eating a cookie!”

And that quote couldn’t be truer! But if you love cookies, could you imagine how your dog feels about cookies?! That’s why we created Holiday Cookie Mix for Dogs, which is a shortbread cookie mix formulated for your dog’s belly. And as I was trying to figure out some really fun ideas how to incorporate a cookie treat for your dog into the hot summer months, it hit me! Ice Cream COOKIE sandwiches. I mean, you and I love ice cream sandwiches in the summer (OK, literally all year round!) and I bet I could make a fun and easy treat for my dog with cookies and ice cream.

So, let’s get started on how to make this really fun Cookie “Ice Creamwich” recipe for your dog. It really is simple and would be so fun to make with the whole family for your four-legged best friend. Because I loved this idea so much, I also created a COOKIE ice cream bowl for your dog. Genius, I know ??

So, let’s begin and find out what you’ll need to start:

1 bag of Holiday Cookie Mix

1 egg
¼ cup of hot tap water
1 TBSP of oil

A FREE bone-shaped cookie-cuter is included in the bag!

3” round cookie-cuter
1 cup of Puppy Scoops Ice Cream Mix (flavor of your choice)

2/3 cup of warm tap water

Baking Sheet
Cooling Rack
Optional Toppings for the Ice Cream

Make the ice cream first! Choose your pups favorite ice cream flavor (Peanut Butter, Maple Bacon, Vanilla, Carob, Blueberry, Pumpkin or Candy Cane – PURCHASE HERE!) and add 2/3 cup of warm tap water to the powdered mix in the cup and stir well until all of the lumps are gone. Replace the lip and place the cup in the freezer for at least 5 hours.

Once your ice cream mix begins to harden, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix the Holiday Cookie Mix, egg, water and oil together. Knead with your hands if necessary, until the mix turns into dough. With a rolling pin or your palms, roll out the dough and cut out your desired number of cookie shapes. ***Please note, the Holiday Cookie Mix does not rise when in the oven. It is recommended to create thin cookie shapes to fit ice cream in between.

Once your cookie shapes are cut out and placed on a cookie sheet, insert into the over for about 7 minutes or until your cookies turn golden brown.

As a fun option mentioned above, take the left-over dough and turn a cupcake pan over. Spray the bottom of the cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray and mold the dough over the pan, creating a “bowl” shape. Pop the pan in the oven for about 5 minutes or until golden brown.

Once the cookie shapes and cookie bowls have cooled and your ice cream has hardened, it’s time to create fun ice cream sandwiches and ice cream bowls for your DOG!

Scoop out the ice cream and place between two cookie shapes! I used Smart Scoops Blueberry Ice Cream Mix made with whole goat’s milk!!!

If your pup prefers an ice cream bowl instead, scoop out your dogs desired ice cream flavor into the cookie bowl and serve!

Ice Cream Pupsicle Paw's

Are you looking for a fun dessert for your dog during the hot summer months? Puppy Cake has a solution for you (and your pup!). Make pup-sicles out of ice cream for your dog to enjoy on those warm summer days. It’s so easy to make using our Puppy Scoops Ice Cream Mix for dogs! There are just a few simple steps to create pup-sicles for your dog.

Let’s get started!!!

For the purpose of this blog post, I’m using three different doggie-delicious ice cream mix flavors; Peanut Butter Ice Cream Mix, Blueberry Smart Scoops Ice Cream Mix and Vanilla Ice Cream Mix. I’m also using 3 different trays/ molds to use. You can certainly use an ice cube tray if you prefer.

Next, follow the directions on the back of the cup of Puppy Scoops Ice Cream Mix for dogs. For faster results, empty the contents of the powdered mix into and blender and add 2/3 cup of warm tap water. Blend well! For easier dispense, pour the mix back into the Puppy Scoops cup.

Find your desired ice cube tray or mold and pour the ice cream mixture evenly into each mold/ cube!

Once your ice cube trays and molds are filled with puppy scoops ice cream mix, place in the freezer for at least 5 hours! (*NOTE: if using a silicone mold, place the mold on a baking sheet for easier handling) For Best results, freeze overnight.

Once your cubes are frozen, remove from the freezer and pop out your paw print and bone-shaped molds. To remove the ice cream from the ice cube tray, slightly dip the bottom of the tray in warm water to loosen the cubes for a few seconds.

And there you go – Now your dog can enjoy yummy frozen treats to stay cool!

Finally, bake a dog-friendly cake to serve to the birthday boy or birthday girl, along with their furry friends. Red Velvet & Banana Shortcake Cake

I really shouldn’t have to explain why I think your dog is going to love this “dog-friendly” twist on the famous Strawberry Shortcake recipe, now do I? After coming up with this “new” recipe idea for dogs, I truly want to make a human version for myself and co-workers here at Puppy Cake.

While taking some stock pictures of our cake mixes, I had a box of our red velvet cake mix and banana cake mix lying next to each other and thought, “Man, I bet that would taste really good with strawberries or blueberries.” I’m always looking for new and fresh recipes for dogs so when I thought of this, I couldn’t wait to share it with you and your pup. So here it goes:

What You’ll Need:

1 box of Puppy Cake’s Red Velvet Cake Mix
1 box of Puppy Cake’s Banana Cake Mix
3” round cookie-cuter
Fresh Blueberries (optional)
Smart Scoops Blueberry Ice Cream Mix, made with whole goat’s milk (optional)

First, you’ll want to pre-heat your oven to 350 degree and prepare the cake mixes. Follow the directions on the back of both cake mixes by adding the cake mix, egg, oil and water together until all lumps are removed. I find it easiest to coat a baking sheet with non-stick cookie spray and pour the cake batter into a baking sheet.

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. When cooled, cut out each flavor of cake using your 3” round cookie-cutter.

Make the icing. Follow the directions by adding 2 TBSP to the icing mix and stir well.

Ice the top of each cake and layer each cake as desired.

Garnish with fresh blueberries (optional) and serve to your pup!

Optional, but certainly delicious, serve with a scoop or two of our Smart Scoops Blueberry Ice Cream. Follow the directions on the cup by adding 1 cup of warm tap water, stirring well until all lumps are gone. Then place the cup in the freezer for about 5 hours.

Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine

Ever wonder if the soft serve ice cream machine you’ve had in your cupboard was ever going to be put to use. Well NOW you can use it for YOUR DOG! Yep, you read that correctly. Our Puppy Scoops ice cream mix for dogs comes in a powdered form. But by adding water to the mix, you can pour the mixture into the soft serve ice cream machine and create soft serve ice cream for your dog!

First, follow the directions for your soft serve ice cream machine. The machine I have is the Cuisinart Soft Serve Ice Cream Machine. Then make your ice cream. Purchase your dogs’ favorite flavor of ice cream mix. I’ll be using vanilla ice cream mix for this tutorial. You can purchase the ice cream mix for dogs on Amazon HERE.

Grab a cup of your ice cream mix and add 2/3 cup of warm tap water to the cup and stir well, making sure all lumps are removed. For faster results, add water and empty the contents of the cup into a blender and mix well.

Once your soft serve ice cream machine is set up and turned on, add the ice cream mix to the freezer bowl by pouring through the opening in the lid. Soft serve ice cream will be finished in as little as 20 minutes, depending on the type of ice cream machine you have.

After 20 minutes, and you determined when to dispense, hold the Puppy Scoops cup under the chute and pull down on the handle to dispense soft serve ice cream for your dog. It’s that easy.

Add whatever toppings your pup enjoys, like bacon bits or crushed up puppy-treats. Maybe even add a dollop of peanut butter on top. The options are endless!
