Sometimes back to the basics is simple. Like a simple delicious cupcake. How about a carob cupcake with peanut butter frosting topped with bacon strip treats? Umm, yes please. But what if I told you these simple treats are for dogs! That’s right. Puppy Cake makes the best cake mixes for dogs that is made with all-natural ingredients, made in the USA and wheat-free.
Let’s get started on how to make this delicious carob cake for your dog. And remember, it doesn’t have to be their birthday to bake a special cake ??
Here is what you’ll need:
A cupcake Pan
1 Box of Carob Cake Mix
1 Egg
¾ cup Water
¼ cup Oil
(Each box of carob cake mix comes complete with yogurt icing!)
A Jar of Peanut Butter
To begin, pre-heat your oven to 350 degree and prepare the Carob cake mix. Follow the directions on the back of the cake mix by adding 1 egg, oil, water and the cake mix together until all lumps are removed. Spray your cupcake pan with non-stick cooking spray and pour the Carob cake mix batter into the pan, tapping on your countertop to remove all bubbles from the pan. Bake for about 12-15 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the middle of the cupcakes comes out clean.
Once your cupcakes have finished baking, immediately poke holes into the center of each cupcake. I used the open end of a utensil to poke holes. Then let the cupcakes completely cool.
Next, mix a half cup of peanut butter with a ½ teaspoon of olive oil and stir well. Place mixture into a baggie and seal tight. Then cut a small hole in the corner of the sandwich baggie and squeeze a desired dollop into the center of each cupcake.
Mix together the yogurt icing found in the cake mix box and stir with 2 TBSP of water. Once your yogurt is made, mix in 1 cup of peanut butter and stir well! Top each cupcake with the peanut butter frosting and decorate as desired. I included bacon strips.
Finally, serve your sweet treat to your pup! Enjoy!!!!!
