Puppy Carrot Cake

Hello Puppy Cake Creators! Did you know that carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, potassium, and fiber, among other vitamins for your doggie? It is true!! Carrots are an affordable and nutritious snack for dogs! This week, we included carrots in our weekly recipe - check it out!

Carrot Cake For Dogs

What You'll Need:

1 box of Puppy Cake Banana cake mix

1/2 cup of shredded carrots

1/4 cup of vegetable oil

1/4 cup of unsweetened apple sauce

1 egg

3/4 cup of water

pinch of cinnamon

6" cake pan

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. The follow the directions on the back of the cake box by mixing 1 egg, 1/2 cup of shredded carrots, 1/4 cup of oil, 1/4 cup of unsweetened apple sauce, 3/4 cup of water, and a pinch of cinnamon together with the cake mix. Stir together until all the ingredients are blended and the lumps are gone in the batter.

Spray one 6" cake pan with non-stick cooking spray and pour the mixture into the cake pan. Place the cake pan in the over for about 20 minutes. Once the cake is done baking, allow the cake to cool for 5 minutes.

While the cake is cooling, make your icing! Simply add 2 tablespoons of water to the provided mixture. Once the cake is done cooling, remove the cake from the pan and place it on a plate. Cut the cake in half. Smear icing on top of one half of the cake and then place the second half of the cake on top of the iced portion. Smear the remaining icing on top of the second half.
