Breakfast for Champions, anyone? Red Velvet waffles with a side of Blueberry ice cream is always a win for any pup. With the cool, crisp fall weather approaching fast, I thought I would cozy up my pup a bit and make some red velvet waffles. And while we’re at it, add a couple scoops of blueberry ice cream too ??
Making waffles for your dog is super easy. All you need is a box of Puppy Cake’s Red Velvet Cake Mix (or any favorite flavor cake mix your dog loves) and a waffle maker. Pancakes are fun too, but today, let's be a bit “extra” and make our furry-pal’s some waffles.
First, start by pre-heating your waffle maker.
Secondly, mix the cake mix according to the directions on the back of the box. For the cake mix, you will need 1 egg, ¾ cup of water and ¼ cup of oil.
Once you have mixed the batter and all lumps are gone, pour the batter into the pre-heated waffle maker and bake accordingly.
Now, you don’t have to include ice cream with your pup’s breakfast, but if he/she has been such a good boy/girl, why not??!! Simply scoop out Blueberry ice cream and place in the middle of the waffle. Then watch your dog’s mouth water ?? Since I made an extra waffle, I decided to bring in my pal, Duke who’s a lovely golden retriever to taste-test his own red velvet waffles!
