HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I can’t believe where this year went. 2018 has been such a busy, yet fantastic year. We’re so excited and anxious to see where 2019 takes us!
As everyone is gearing up with more food to watch the ball drop into 2019, why not include your pup too in the festivities?! I created this fun and festive dessert, just for your pup. Using two of our Puppy Cake products; Red Velvet cake mix and Salted Caramel cheesecake mix, this super easy dessert will have your pup ringing in the new year with a happy belly!
So, let’s start on what you’ll need to make this New Year’s Eve trifle dessert, only for your dog…
YOU WILL NEED:
1 Box Salted Caramel Cheesecake Mix
1/3 cup hot tap water for the Coconut Crumble Crust
1 Cup hot tap water for the Cheesecake Mix
1 Box Red Velvet Cake Mix
1 Egg
¾ Cup water
¼ Cup oil
Let’s start baking! Starting with the cheesecake, place the coconut crust mix in a bowl and add 1/3 cup of hot tap water and stir until water is absorbed. Press crust evenly into a spring-foam pan and place into the freezer while you make the cheesecake.
In a medium mixing bowl, stir the cheesecake mix and 1 cup of hot tap water until all lumps are removed. Remove the crust from the freezer and pour the cheesecake mix evenly over the crust. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Then move onto making the red velvet cake.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Follow the directions on the back of the red velvet cake mix box by adding 1 egg, ¾ cup of water and ¼ cup of oil to the cake mix and stir well. Pour batter into a pan coated with non-stick cooking spray and bake for about 15-20 minutes.
Once cheesecake is firm and the cake is completely cool, start by crumbling each into a shallow bowl. First, start with the red velvet cake. Grab a chunk of cake and crumble into small pieces at the bottom of the bowl. Then layer with crumbled pieces of cheesecake. Add a generous amount of icing on top and continue to layer the cakes in a bowl; red velvet cake, cheesecake, icing! *Icing is provided in each box of cake mix. To make the icing, add 2 TBSP of water and stir well.
And there you have it; a scrumptious New Year’s Eve dessert for you dog.
